ICA has become the first company from Turkey to be accepted as a full member of the European Association of Toll Road Infrastructure Operators (ASECAP), (ASECAP – European Association of Operators of Toll Road Infrastructures). ICA General Manager Atilla Gökçe stated, “With the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge and the Northern Ring Highway, we continue to be among Turkey’s pioneers as a private toll road operator on the international stage as well. We aim to elevate the European-standard services we provide to drivers to even higher levels through our membership in ASECAP, the most important international association in our sector in Europe, which accepts only one member from each country,” he said.

The IC İçtaş İnşaat–Astaldi consortium (ICA), which has delivered a world-class project through the construction and operation of the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge and the Northern Ring Highway, has been accepted into the European Association of Operators of Toll Road Infrastructures (ASECAP). —ASECAP). ICA became the first company from Turkey to gain full membership in ASECAP, which comprises firms operating more than 50,000 km of highways, bridges, and tunnels across 22 countries and accepts only one member per country.

Noting that by joining ASECAP—which offers the opportunity to build direct networks with road infrastructure operators across Europe—ICA continues to be among Turkey’s pioneers on the international stage, ICA General Manager Atilla Gökçe made the following statement: “As a private highway operator, our top priority has always been to provide drivers with a high-quality, safe, and comfortable journey through the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge and the Northern Ring Highway. We are the first Turkish company to be accepted as a full member of ASECAP, which includes firms from 22 countries. It is a source of pride for us to be among the members who make up a large part of the European road network. Private highway operation, which began in Europe many years ago, is a very new industry for our country. With the awareness that we are one of Turkey’s first private highway operators, we are working to ensure this business is conducted at the highest level. The Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge and the Northern Ring Highway physically connect Europe and Asia. Thanks to ASECAP’s extensive experience and knowledge base, we believe we will be able to elevate the European-standard service we provide to our drivers to even higher levels. We also believe that we will enrich ASECAP with the experience and knowledge we have gained from the synthesis of Europe and Asia.”

About ASECAP
Founded in 1973 by seven companies from France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Greece, Portugal, and Norway, ASECAP offers opportunities to establish direct networks with Europe’s highway infrastructure operators, as well as provides you with first-hand access to technical, administrative, financial, and statistical data related to highway development policy and the construction, maintenance, and operation of highways, bridges, tunnels, and similar infrastructure. Its members, who collectively manage more than 50,000 km of highways, bridges, and tunnels across 22 countries, constitute a significant portion of the Trans-European Road Network. ASECAP, which coordinates relationships with international organizations, EU institutions, and key industry stakeholders, facilitates the exchange of information among its members regarding the construction, maintenance, and operation of toll infrastructure. By organizing working meetings on technical, administrative, and financial issues for efficient traffic management, ASECAP aims to provide users with high-quality services. In the coming period, it will continue its work with a focus on service improvement, enhanced safety, and environmental protection.

ABOUT ICA
ICA was established through the merger of IC İçtaş İnşaat—which has successfully executed major projects both in Turkey and on the international stage—and Astaldi, one of the world’s leading construction companies. ICA brings to life projects once deemed impossible, by pushing the boundaries of modern engineering techniques and leveraging its international experience. ICA, which has delivered projects that exceed global standards in both architecture and engineering, is working to sustain its success in the future through its dynamic organizational structure, the synergy it possesses, and its team of professionals, each an expert in their respective fields.

Among the projects ICA has undertaken are the St. Petersburg Pulkovo Airport Expansion Project, completed in 2015, the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge and Northern Ring Highway Project, which opened in August 2016, and the St. Petersburg High-Speed Western Ring Road (WHSD) Project, which entered service in December 2016.

Today, ICA is rapidly continuing its work on the M11 Highway Project—one of the most significant transportation investments as part of the preparations for the 2018 FIFA World Cup—which will connect Moscow, the capital of the Russian Federation, with St. Petersburg, one of its most important cities. In addition, the IKA consortium, of which ICA is a member, is carrying out the construction of the Menemen-Aliağa-Çandarlı Highway Project, which will provide highway access to Aliağa—one of Izmir’s leading industrial and commercial districts—and the Port of Çandarlı.
