Following the handover of the two renovated terminals at Riyadh International Airport, IC İçtaş aims to win at least one of six new tenders

IC İçtaş is accelerating its efforts to expand its presence in the Saudi Arabian market. Having completed the renovation of Terminals 3 and 4 at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and preparing to hand over Terminals 1 and 2, the company aims to participate in the six new terminal projects to be built from scratch at Riyadh King Salman Airport.

IC İçtaş, which aims to win at least one terminal bid, also plans to submit bids in the terminal operations sector. The company, which completed the renovation of the first four terminals at a cost of $1.4 billion, is projecting a minimum volume of $2 billion for the new terminal projects.

IC İçtaş Executive Board Member İlker Öksüz stated that they aim to evaluate new opportunities in Saudi Arabia with their local partner, RTCC. IC İçtaş, which submitted a bid during the pre-qualification phase of the Neom Airport project, noted that capacity will reach 20 million following the expansion work to be carried out there. Öksüz also emphasized that, within the scope of the Neom project, Turkish companies could secure a share of at least $10 billion annually.

Öksüz noted that IC İçtaş’s experience makes a significant difference in Saudi Arabia’s growing airport and infrastructure projects, adding that the country’s vision for the aviation sector is intensifying competition with other Gulf countries.

While the company is interested in the operating tenders for the Riyadh and Jeddah airports, it noted that it did not participate in the Abha Airport privatization process due to the project’s small scale.

IC İçtaş also plans to play an active role in international projects in the energy sector. Having acquired two companies in the renewable energy sector in Italy, the firm will focus on seawater desalination projects in Azerbaijan.

Among the other projects the company will undertake in Saudi Arabia as part of Vision 2030 is the Wadi Laban Bridge, which will be the country’s tallest bridge.
