IC Holding will centralize its sustainability efforts through Escarus

IC Holding aims to bring together the sustainability initiatives carried out separately by its group companies under a holistic framework, and to establish a centralized sustainability management system. IC Holding CEO Murad Bayar stated, “Sustainability is an integral part of our corporate values. Through our partnership with Escarus, we are centralizing our companies’ ongoing sustainability initiatives and launching a process that will allow us to advance toward our sustainability goals with much more solid steps, leveraging the strength derived from this collaboration,” he said.

Operating in five main sectors—construction, energy, tourism, industry, and infrastructure—IC Holding continues its activities focused on creating lasting value for the environment and society. Aiming to carry out sustainability initiatives across its group companies more effectively and with a centralized approach, IC Holding has signed a partnership agreement with Escarus, which provides professional consulting services to Turkey’s leading domestic and international companies and public institutions. By structuring business processes across its group companies in accordance with the principle of sustainability, IC Holding will establish a centralized sustainability management system under Escarus’s guidance and embed a chain of activities into its corporate structure that ensures individual initiatives in this area are carried out in a more holistic and efficient manner within the Holding.

“We will move forward with stronger steps toward our corporate sustainability goals”

The partnership, which unites IC Holding and Escarus in the pursuit of a sustainable future, was formalized at a meeting attended by IC Holding CEO Murad Bayar and Escarus General Manager Dr. Kubilay Kavak.

IC Holding CEO Murad Bayar emphasized that, with the mindset of an investment holding company, they have been working for over 50 years with an approach that prioritizes creating added value for the environment, society, and the economy. Stating that the agreement with Escarus will strengthen their corporate sustainability efforts, Bayar said, “In line with our sustainability principle, we have implemented numerous projects across our group companies to date and have successfully adapted the actions we’ve taken and the solutions we’ve developed toward this goal into our operations. We are now centralizing our corporate sustainability efforts by establishing a management system that will holistically coordinate all these activities and is centered on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. We took the first step in this regard in June by establishing the IC Holding Sustainability Department. In parallel with our partnership with Escarus—our second major step—we are also establishing a Sustainability Academy within our Holding organization. This will help embed corporate sustainability across all our group companies and support the growth of our employees’ knowledge and awareness of ESG issues. As a group, we will continue to plan our growth—both in our investments and operations—while always prioritizing our environmental impact, economic development, and social progress. Through our centralized sustainability management system, we will collectively focus on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals across all our companies. “At IC Holding, we are launching a new process that will allow us to move toward our sustainability goals with even stronger steps, combining the excitement of our goal to publish our first sustainability report in 2022 with Escarus’ professional consulting support,” he said.
