ICA Signs Major Agreement in Russia

The IC İçtaş Construction–Astaldi Consortium (ICA), which has drawn attention for the major projects it has undertaken in Turkey and around the world, signed a significant protocol with the Russian Federal Road Agency (Rosavtodor) during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

At a ceremony held on Thursday, June 1, the protocol was signed by Roman Starovoyt, Chairman of Rosavtodor, and Fırat Çeçen, Chairman of the Board of Directors of IC İçtaş Construction. Through this protocol, ICA and Rosavtodor announced their partnership for highway projects to be implemented through public-private partnerships.

Stating that they are rapidly continuing their work on the M11 Highway Project—one of the most important transportation investments as part of the preparations for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which will connect Moscow and St. Petersburg—IC İçtaş Construction Board Chairman Fırat Çeçen said, “Following the completion of our two projects in Russia—the expansion of Pulkovo Airport and the completion of the St. Petersburg High-Speed Western Bypass—we are pleased to sign such an important agreement. We wholeheartedly believe that this protocol, which we have signed for highway projects to be implemented through public-private partnerships, will contribute to strengthening our cooperation. “For ICA, it is of great importance that our experience in carrying out joint projects with Russia is further solidified through new projects. We are proud to collaborate with Rosavtodor and to advance the investment partnership between Turkey and Russia,” he said.

The Federal Road Agency (Rosavtodor) is an executive public institution responsible for managing road assets and public transportation, as well as fulfilling the obligations arising from international agreements signed by the Russian Federation in its area of jurisdiction.

The total length of intercity roads in the Russian Federation exceeds 51,860 km, of which 49,000 km are allocated to Rosavtodor and 2,700 km to “Avtodor,” another state-owned company.
