Oct 01, 2026

Work has been completed on 36 of the viaducts to be built as part of the 3rd Bosphorus Bridge and Northern Marmara Highway Project. The viaducts have been made ready for service.

Seven more viaducts have been completed as part of the Third Bosphorus Bridge and Northern Marmara Highway Project implemented by ICA. This brings the total number of completed viaducts to 36 out of 64 under the project.

The viaducts play a significant role in the 116-kilometer highway being constructed as part of the 3rd Bridge and Northern Marmara Highway Project. A 13.5-kilometer section of the highway will pass over viaducts. As part of the project, work on 7 more viaducts has been completed. This brings the total number of viaducts ready for traffic to 36.

A project official noted that work on the viaducts is being carried out simultaneously, stating, “Work is currently proceeding simultaneously on many viaducts. As of the end of October, work has been completed on Viaduct 3 (single-span), approximately 220 meters long; Viaduct 10 (double-span), 415 meters long; the 687-meter-long Viaduct 25 (double-span), and the 336-meter-long Viaduct 30 (double-span).”

With this result, work has been completed on a 6.5-kilometer section of the 13.5-kilometer viaduct construction. This also means that construction has been completed on 36 of the 64 viaducts in the project—nearly half of the total.
As project officials noted, the completion of the viaducts is expected to speed up transportation within the project.
