Work is underway on highway traffic signage and lane markings along the route of the Northern Marmara Highway Project. The goal is to improve traffic and road safety.

Work on the 3rd Bosphorus Bridge and Northern Marmara Highway Project, implemented by ICA, is nearing completion. In the final phase, highway traffic markings and road line work are being carried out along the project route. A total of 200,000 m² of thermoplastic line markings will be applied on the highway.

A project official stated, “These works are being carried out to ensure traffic and road safety, regulate traffic, guide drivers and pedestrians using the road, provide information about the road, and indicate necessary prohibitions and restrictions.” These markings include lane and shoulder lines, at-grade crosswalks to ensure pedestrian safety, pelican crosswalk markings at zebra crossings and signalized intersections, arrows, text, and symbols; offset markings at intersections, road junctions, and on-ramps; advance warning lines for slowing down; road buttons; and other similar markings. "These applications can be carried out using various types of paint, such as two-component, thermoplastic, and cold road marking paint," he said.

Describing the current status, the official stated, "A total of 200,000 square meters of thermoplastic line marking will be installed in our project. So far, approximately 20,000 square meters have been completed in just 10 days, with 15,000 square meters on the European side and 5,000 square meters on the Anatolian side,” he stated.
