The largest energy facility in Erzincan, the hydroelectric power plant on the Euphrates River

IC İçtaş Construction has successfully completed the Bağıştaş I Dam and Hydroelectric Power Plant on the Euphrates (Karasu) River in the İliç district of Erzincan under an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) model. Conducted using an integrated approach that encompassed design, engineering, procurement, construction, installation of electromechanical systems, testing, and commissioning, the project included: embankment-type dam structures, a diversion system, a power plant building, a penstock, a switchyard, and hydraulic and electromechanical infrastructure were constructed.

The power plant, with an installed capacity of 140 MW, began generating electricity in 2015 and has become Erzincan’s largest energy facility. With an average annual electricity production of 431 million kWh, the facility meets the electricity needs of approximately 118,736 people and, as Turkey’s 40th largest hydroelectric power plant, has made a significant contribution to the country’s renewable energy capacity. It is one of the key projects that reflects IC İçtaş İnşaat’s expertise in the field of energy production facilities.
