The largest of Romania's three regional emergency hospitals

The Iași Regional Emergency Hospital in Romania is being built as the largest of Romania’s three regional emergency hospitals, with a total enclosed area of approximately 202,000 m². Upon completion, the facility will have a capacity of 850 beds, approximately 20 operating rooms, 113 clinical units, and advanced diagnostic and treatment services. The main hospital buildings, six clinical centers, the emergency department, intensive care units, outpatient clinics, medical imaging centers, and laboratories; a helicopter pad, a photovoltaic (solar energy) park, and geothermal infrastructure, forming an integrated regional emergency hospital complex.

Funded through European Union programs and designed to serve as a regional tertiary healthcare center for Romania’s Northeast Region, the project has been designed in accordance with nZEB (Nearly Zero-Energy Building) standards. Upon completion, it will provide access to advanced healthcare services for more than three million residents of northeastern Romania, increase regional treatment capacity, and support medical education and research.
